My water broke Wed. afternoon. After spending 2 days in the hospital, the doctors sent me home because I wasn't laboring. I got the feeling they didn't keep women in the hospital until 24 weeks, when the baby would a small chance of survival. I am about 22 weeks. It is maddening not knowing what is going to happen! We were told that most women go into labor within the week, but every once in a while women have gone longer. And even if I did carr the baby longer, conditions stll need to be just right for lung development, and limb development and so forth. This has not been an enamoring pregnancy! So we wait. My huband called it intensive waiting. We've already started funeral plans, but we are still hoping for the best. In an ideal situation we would hope for a strong, healthy baby that would have a min. of disabilities when he is grown, that he would someday be able to run and play, and enjoy his time here on earth, as all children should do!

Sarah, it sounds like you still have questions. Please call your dr. and corner him into answering them. This stress isn't good for the baby or you and I'm so sorry you are having to go through it. I'm keeping your family in my thoughts and hoping for the very best outcome.

Sarah - my prayers are with you and your family. I also think you should call your doctor and find out what is going on. Do they have you on total bedrest??? Take care of yourself.

I'm on moderate bedrest. Bathroom and quick shower, that's it. I'm on high dosages of antibotics for infection. Most of the information that I've gotten is over the internet.

Sarah, I'm sorry for all the problems you've had to deal with during this pregnancy. I'll be thinking of you.

My thoughts are with you. Take care of yourself. Did they give you something (steroids, I think they are??) To mature the baby's lungs, or is it too early for that?

I am sorry to hear that. I will pray for you and your family. Also, I agree with the others here, please call your doctor and make him answer all your questions.

Then, e-mails were written on paper and put in weird paper things called envelopes and the postal system delivered them. This was slow. Finally, e-mail as we know it came around."
