Ideas for buttonholes

A couple of people suggested that I use eyelets. I think that's a pretty good idea if I just want to run a tie through it. I'll probably end up doing that next time. What are my other alternatives to making buttonholes and sewing on buttons?

hello Peachstt you can close your garment with :snaps, hooks and eyes, chinese ball buttons and loops made of thread or fabric, velcro, zipper, tab-like belts, grommets and ties if you wind the grommet with matching colour thread it is couture like I have seen this spring at some designer fashionshows.There are probably more ways for a closure but this is what pops up in my mind when I saw your question.
