Hi Everyone!

Does anyone OWN a Giga hoop for their Janome Machine (300E, 9500, or 9700 specifically).

I'm interested in this hoop, BUT do NOT own any JANOME software products, I've just been using Embird's free trial for now (and will probably go with this software).

My question is, Can you have a Giga Hoop WITHOUT purchasing the Janome Software?? And IF so, how do YOU do it!?!

Absolutely! You do NOT need the Janome software!

There is an excellent Yahoo group devoted to the Janome 300E machine that has documents in the Files section that tell you all about using Embird with the Gigahoop.
EasteethreeMachines is the Yahoo group - a really great source of help, inspiration and advice on the Janome embroidery machines.

You wanna know something funny.
I just asked this question today at the Janome dealer when I was picking up my Janome 300e from servicing.
She said "no" you must have customizer.
I even told her that I have Embird.
Interesting......

I have found that most Janome dealers are very ignorant about Embird or any other non Janome software. When I told them that I do not own ANY Janome software they look at me like I have 3 heads!

It's not surprising that the dealers have only heard of Janome software for Janome machines: all the dealers get exposure to is what the Janome reps provide. It's a bit ironic, because they could probably increase machine sales if customers knew that they could embroider custom designs using less expensive software.

Hi, I was interested in this myself as I have a 9500 but I haven't upgraded the program in the machine yet. Haven't found a need to.

But I checked out this group you mentioned, EasteethreeMachines, and can't find it. Is this the correct name?

i have the janome 10000 with the giga hoop and you need
janome software to bring it into your machine

Absolutley correct Embird does it all and more.
I have a 10001, updated from a 10000 and a 300E. I also have the Janome Customiser software which I never use since owning Embird. Customiser is quite limited and cannot undertake many of the functions of Embird.

Embird continually updates their program and when a new machine is released, the hoop sizes available in Embird are quickly available.

Dealers do not like to mention Embird as they are selling their own proprietry software.

There are free tutorials on the Embird site for using Gigahoop.
