Date: 7/11/06 7:38 AM I thought I would start up a separate thread for Dishing Project Runway, Season 3...
Woo hoo! T minus 38 hours and counting! It was interesting to read SueV's link in the LA Times and read about the fact that the designers are coming less and less from the student ranks.
Tomorrow, tomorrow, I can't wait!

Date: 7/11/06 8:20 AM I am beyond excited here in Oklahoma. One of this season's designers is from here and his store less than 2 miles from my home. I'm almost ashamed at how much I enjoy a reality show. Almost. ------ You will do foolish things, but do them with enthusiasm.

Date: 7/11/06 8:47 AM This will soon become a thread I can't read for a few months as the Canadian TV regulators (boy I would love to use a not so genteel term!!!) make us wait till the fall to watch! AARGH!!!!
Did anybody notice that Marla (PR 1 I think ...) is in the latest Threads issue? ------ Like Miss Frizzle says "Take chances, make mistakes ..." isn't that what fitting is all about? I am happily taking chances and making mistakes as I fit muslin after muslin ...

Date: 7/11/06 9:15 AM Kris, I saw that Norman guy on the list too, I'm really curious to see what happens.
Ok, so don't feel too bad about enjoying a reality show. I just let DH talk me into adding DVR to our cable service-- so I can reliably record PR! Otherwise I have to do it manually and I'm likely to forget or be otherwise occupied with DD who won't sleep. Normally I loathe reality shows and DH is somewhat baffled that I just watched all the reruns of the first season (which I never saw before). I did see Marla in Threads, btw.
ETA: looking at the bios yesterday on the Bravo site, it really stood out that a lot of the contestants seem to be professionals. Many already have or have had their own lines. This is an interesting way to go for the producers. I'm not sure I prefer it, actually, since there was something interesting about seeing novices deal with "real world" challenges. And of course the fantasy issue of someone completely unknown suddenly winning. All veeery interesting.... -- Edited on 7/11/06 9:19 AM -- ------ kristine

Date: 7/11/06 10:10 AM Originally the special with Tim Gunn "Road To Runway" was scheduled to be on tomorrow at 9pm. But Bravo has changed it. If you interested at first look at season 3 designers, it is on tonight, Tuesday at 10pm on Bravo. Premire is still tomorrow though. I can't wait.

Date: 7/11/06 10:32 AM Oo I'm so glad you mentioned this. I'll tune in tonight for a first peek. DH was a little interested in season 2, so we will see whether the trend holds for this season. ------ Kris |

Date: 7/11/06 12:09 PM As you can imagine the local papers have been discussing the Norman guy alot. I have avoided all the stories, though, for fear of spoilers. Not that Bravo would let anything major out, but almost any info is a spoiler to me.
I have contemplated getting DVR primarily for PR, but also Lost. I am the Designated VCR Programmer in our household and have missed a few episodes. It got a bit testy around here with DH because of it.
BTW, DH is just as crazy for PR as am I. One evening I asked if we could watch this show I'd heard about on PR (the dotcom one) that just arrived from Netflix. He said OK and was hooked that fast. I would like to point out (and he would appreciate my doing so) that he is still quite macho.
Thanks for the heads up on the schedule change, Jeannie. ------ You will do foolish things, but do them with enthusiasm.

Date: 7/11/06 1:22 PM ROFLOL, DH wasn't hooked as far as I can tell, although he did ask me why I thought one final line was so unacceptable and another was so good. He was confused by the extreme nature of runway fashion in general.
I'm also the designated VCR programmer in our household (and the designated chef, financial coordinator, house maintenence coordinator, scheduling coordinator... basically, I do everything. Excpet the laundry and dishes, I only do half of those. LOL DH is somewhat hapless when it comes to finances and somehow that ended up meaning I was in charge of virtually everything).
I decided that $10 extra a month was probably actually a good investment to get more out of the ridiculous amount we already spend on cable tv we almost never watch, mostly because we never remember when the few shows we like are on. At least this way I can program it to tape the whole season and not have to worry. ------ kristine
