Subject: materials needed Date: 7/15/06 9:52 PM What kind of shopping list for materials is needed for this class? I'm on a tight budget and really interested in taking it but need to assess if I can swing it. Thanks! ------ Stefanie |

Subject: Re: materials needed Date: 7/16/06 1:22 PM Dear Stephanie,
The materials list is quite modest - just fabric scraps (natural fibers preferred), a loop turner (the inexpensive kind that has tiny hook on one end, a long metal bar, and a loop on the other end); buttonhole twist (or similar), a snap (size 1 or larger).....I think that's about it. It's a techniques class, so it's about manipulating fabric, really, so the materials are all modest. Oh, and about a half-yard or so of real grosgrain ribbon, about an inch wide, (sometimes called petersham), which is available from The Sewing Place.
All the best,

Subject: Question. first chat night Date: 7/21/06 4:34 PM Hi Susan! I really enjoyed your two-day class at ASG conference last year in Nashville. I decided to give my spot this year to another deserving and anxious ASG member!
I'd like to sign up for a review...but will miss the first chat since I won't return from ASG until Tuesday night, August 8th. Will that be a problem? Will I still be able to review the material discussed?
thanks

Subject: Over my head? Date: 7/26/06 2:37 PM I read the description of the Couture Techniques class, and the topics are all interesting. However, I'm wondering whether it would be appropriate for me, as a beginning sewist. I don't know whether you'd call me an advanced beginner or not, because I don't know what the criteria are. Anyway, I'm wondering whether it would be too far above my head at this point. Your thoughts on the matter would be appreciated. Thanks!

Date: 12/30/06 0:55 AM What is a buttonhole twist? I may be taking this class, but I want to make sure I make only one trip to the fabric store

Subject: Re: Pre Registration Q&A Date: 12/31/06 1:44 PM It's a thread that's thicker and stronger than regular sewing thread. So, for the sample, you can use heavy-weight Guttermann thread; it will work just fine.

Subject: One Free Class Date: 1/2/07 0:49 AM Would this class qualify for the free class?
What if I register for the class and then have to cancel? I may be recoperating from surgery about that time. Would I get a full refund? |

Subject: Classes Date: 9/16/08 3:46 PM Hi,
Is the Couture Hand Stitches Class you are offering in October different that Top 10 Couture Techniques?
Thanks |
