Subject: Beginning Class Date: 4/4/04 8:44 AM

Hi, I am very interested in taking the Begin to Sew class, unfortunately I will be out of town (away from my computer and sewing machine) for the first two weeks of May. Is it still worth taking the class without being able to participate in the online discussions? Will this class be offered again? Thank you.

Good question..It is entirely up to you and your learning style. The downloads are packed with information and pictures/ diagrams that help you to understand the technique or concept being discussed. The chat transcripts are available to reference if you are unable to join in for a live chat. The question and answer board is helpful to all students since it is a way to get any question answered at any time. If you are not able to physically make use of this feature, you would still be able to download other students Q&A's.
This class will be offered again in 4-5 months. Let me know if I can answer any more questions.
Best regards,
Lisa Taranto

Hi Kathy,

All the timings are in EST as stated on the schedule. The chat transcripts are posted along with the lessons the next day so you can still benefit from the chat even if you are not able to attend.

To ask questions there is a Q&A board similar to this Pre-Registration Board where you type in your question and Lisa will answer it as soon as she can.

The Q&A board is also available in a printable format so you can print and keep for your reference.

Hope this helps,

What is the planned project for the Sept. class that will be starting? Is there a choice? Need to know exactly what we will be making before I decide to sign up.

Thank you.

Kaytee,
The class is on techniques that will be necessary for a beginner. There is not a specific project that will be worked on. You will learn how to blind hem, put in a zipper, how to understitch, etc. I also give information on needles , threads and notions that will help you improve your sewing ability.
Best regards,

I am entiltled to a free downloadable lesson. I do not understand exactly what that means. I am interested in the beginning sewing lesson, is that a free downloadable lesson? If not, how do I access the free downloadable lessons?

Hi I would really like to start this class, but this is my question. Does this course have mandatory class login or is it self pace? As I work a full time job and attend school online this is the reason for my question.
