A few weeks ago I made the new Simplicity twist top pattern and was fairly pleased with it. My major complaint was the fact that the smallest size is an 8 and that is just a bit big for me. I cut out an 8 and ended up taking in the side seams and it seemed to fit much better, however the sleeves seem to do a wierd pointing out (I made it just plain short sleeves, not the "fluttery" ones ~ see picture below). I am wondering if the sleeve draft is weird or are my arms too narrow? I like the variation of this twist top compared to the Burda one (which fit me perfectly). It's just a tad different so it's fun to have variety and since the twist is slightly different, I'd like to get this one fitting well too. All this to ask, how does the KS pattern compare to the Simplicity one. I am contemplating just getting the KS one since it has the smaller size that would fit me.

Thanks for any input!

I kind of like the weird pointy sleeves! But I see what you mean. It looks like you need to widen the shoulders on the pattern, maybe?

I'm a 4-6 in tops too and I find Kwik Sew tends to run a bit big, so I think we might have the same size issues with the KS twist top. I do like the KS pattern because it's a different kind of twist (haven't bought it, though).

The Burda WOF twist top fit me perfectly too. I think it ran a little small.

I'm planning to make the Simplicity twist top, but have to grade it down.

I recently made the Butterick twist top B4745 which I reviewed. I didn't realize Simplicity had one also! The Butterick one has a split sleeve so it hangs well, I think. I liked it so well I made the dress version too which I have yet to review. I didn't like the KS version at all--thought it had a weird fit and did like the Burda OK, but definitely prefer the Butterick. I guess I'll have to get the Simplicity version now. BTW, I think it looks very nice!
