These two titles have languished on my Amazon list just waiting for the Septmeber release dates, when wandering through Barnes & Noble this morning I found both on the shelves. Couldn't resist - snatched up both. Now that's saying something; I have an Amazon Prime membership and can't even remember the last time I paid full price for a book!

Just thought I'd give a heads up for anyone else eagerly awaiting their release!

Would love to hear a review of both! I love how they are both about sewing but totally different from each other. Can't wait to see them.

I want to know what patterns are with the Sew U book - can you post a picture of them? Too bad B&N is an hour away, I can't go peek on a whim.

I've reviewed both of them. You can find extremely detailed reviews on my site and a condensed version (under sewing books reviews) here on PR.

I'll post reviews as soon as I digest 'em! There are projects in both I can't wait to get started on. Happily neither book contains patterns that are a rehash of what either designer has offered commercially before. Sew U's style seems very amiably chatty, with a good number of suggestions even for a seasoned sewist. AB's book is nirvana for her fans (count me in). I soooo cannot wait to make the fashion checkbook clutch.

Thanks to all of you for Sew U recommendations. I have devoured every word of this book--what a great resource! She makes both the sewing and designing aspects very accessible. I just completed the skirt pattern. The review is here: Sew U Review.

I saw "In Stitches" at my B&N store on Monday. I was surprised it was there. I went ahead and bought it from Amazon on Friday; it was only $16.70.
