I'm sure everyone on this board is going to enjoy the hancock flyer anouncing the fleece celebration on Sept 17. They're launching a magazine called "Fleece Ideas", issuing fleece coupons, and just celebrating the existence of fleece in general.

Is there an American Fleece Association or something?

When I read the title for this topic I burst out laughing! I just knew it was a flyer from either Hancock's or JoAnne's!

Since I have four of Nancy Cornwell's Polar Fleece books I think I'll pass on the "Fleece Ideas".

I still have *waaaay* too much of the stuff in my stash already!

Hancocks has proclaimed themselves as "Fleece Headquarters" with "The largest selection of fleece anywhere"! They have even snagged the url www.fleeceheadquarters.com

Personally I prefer this kind of fleece:

I got mine yesterday, and yeah I just can't wait.
I think they do sell alot even here, due to crafting and cheap, simple no sew Christmas presents.
And of course it can be the cheap pill prone fleece - it won't stay cold enough here long enough to even need to wash the stuff you make with it!

I almost choked when I got that flyer.
"Fleece Celebration".

I was in Hancock's last weekend. The fleece area takes up over half of the store.
Sadly, there were people lined up at the fleece cutting tables waiting for bolts and bolts of fleece to be cut. I guess Hancock's stocks so much crappy fleece b/c there's a market for it.

I mildly voiced my amazement at the huge stash of fleece in our local store (in Alabama in June!) and the manager just shook her head and shrugged. "It sells..."

Twice this summer I've gone in with a 40% off any fabric coupon...and left with it still in my purse.

Lori, I like that fleece, too!

This is sooooo funny!

Customers can buy the latest Threads with 2, count 'em! -2- poncho features (one pattern review, and one whole article!) and get the fleece to make them with!

Now that I've been snarky, I have a guitly confession to make....I will be sewing a fleece jacket in the not too distant future. My very first fleece.

I swear, I must have the only Hancocks in the country that has only one table of fleece in the back corner of the store. Maybe the employees of this branch are subversives who've managed to infiltrate.

My Hancock's has about eight double-width tables of fleece, plus piles and piles of it stacked up on the top of shelves at the back of the store.

This is the first week in two months that the temperature has been under 100 degrees. It will not be under 70 until the end of October. It will be above 70 by the end of April.

There must be a lot of fleece christmas stockings floating around this town. The mind boggles.
