Date: 9/12/06 9:38 PM I'm posting this totally just for fun:
1970's Simplicity 7385
The seller shows a (really bad) photo of the pattern envelope instead of a proper scan, so I hope you can see it.
I've been looking for this ever since the Duro hit the fashion press. I think mine is still in a closet at my parents house.

Date: 9/12/06 10:07 PM I just gave this pattern away over the summer when I was going through everything. It was probably a size 12 or something much, much smaller than I am. I'd be cool, Phyllis, if you could still fit into yours. ------ Visit my blog at http://sewingsaga.blogspot.com

Phyllis, you must have been the most stylish girl in the pre-K class...[/quote] Pre-K? Oh you flatter me Karla! I was about 15-16 when I had that dress circa 1974.

Date: 9/13/06 1:52 PM I remember these dresses. I did a lot of sewing in the seventies during my adolescence, and I still have some patterns from then. Some look pretty current, but most are too small. I still like them. ------ "puhPOjhu"--a river that sinks into a mountain with fury and winds around underground for miles before emerging in calm down the road... |

Date: 9/13/06 6:11 PM OMG, I still have this pattern in my stash! In the late 70s, I made the top. It turned out wonderfully, and I loved it. But I had used some mystery fabric that shredded in the wash, so it didn't last long.
Maybe this is a good time to try it again, though I'd have to grade it up one or two sizes.
Thanks for the memories!

Date: 9/13/06 7:15 PM I too made this pattern! It was the pattern I used for my high school economics class. It was from making this pattern that I found out I really do like to sew...and the rest is history!
Thanks for sharing. It sounds like alot of us have very good taste...now and then!
