Date: 10/20/06 6:43 PM Evidently the new Vogue Patterns catalog came out since the last time I checked, getting ready to snatch up the latest Sandra Betzina patterns at the Jo-Ann's $3.99 Vogue patterns sale this weekend.
They are in the new, larger envelope, with all sizes (A-J) included, and printed on white(er) tissue paper. The last three listed are the ones which just appeared in the newest Holiday catalog.
Her new patterns are:
2911 - Blouse/jacket with princess seams and peplum...and bias pull-on skirt.
2913 - Straight-legged pants with contour waistband
2914 - Vests (these were the ones we saw in her trunk show earllier this year)
2926 - Bias dress with front bodice drape, asymmetrical waist, skirt godets - GORGEOUS! Perfect for the holidays!
2933 - Funky skirt and pouch purse - LOVE IT!
2935 - Jackets - very cool princess seaming with inverted pleats!
(Note to Peggy L - There's still a good selection of each one in the drawers at your most favorite Jo-Ann's! ) |

Date: 10/20/06 9:12 PM Also interesting to note that Vogue also "improved" (increased) the price - the first three are regularly pre-priced at $22.50; the newer are $25 each! Thank goodness for the sales! |

Date: 10/20/06 10:26 PM I picked up the bias-cut dress last week when Fabricland had them on sale for Cdn$5.49. Here, the regular Vogue designers' price is $33.00 Who on earth buys them at full price? Not me, ever!

Date: 10/20/06 11:00 PM Hi, Oopsy-Daisy!
Been there and got that!!! I also got the Sandra Betzina #2926! Plus five other Vogues and 3 Buttericks. Couldn't find any McCall's that were of interest to me, though. And thank heavens for JoAnn's sales! I don't buy ANY patterns (and hardly any fabrics) that are not on sale. Probably why I have so few Burda patterns - they are rarely on sale!

Date: 10/22/06 5:22 PM The prices printed on the Big 4 patterns are preposterous. I doubt anyone ever pays full price for a current pattern. The standard, every day discount is 40% off. A few weeks ago, I bought a $28.50 Vogue pattern at Hancock's for $3.88.
Incidentally, the most expensive Marfy patterns now cost $109 plus $6 shipping on Vogue's website, and they never go on sale. ------ The essence of life is statistical improbability on a colossal scale.

Yes, so they are in the Portland area. But 40% off (BTW, it used to be 50%) is still expensive compared to the $1.99 or 99¢ which McCall's, Butterick and Simplicity are often sold for. Or the $3.99 Vogues! So it has to be a very interesting pattern indeed for me to pay more than that!

Date: 10/22/06 8:51 PM I agree, the MSRP is definitely cause for sticker shock and unrealistic. |

Date: 10/23/06 2:27 PM It appears Sandra finally graduated to "designer" status as shown by Vogue's numbering, packaging and pricing system. |
