Looking for suggestions on how to make a jewellery travel case. I don't need a pattern, just your thoughts on how to construct it. I start from the premise that I will need to make a rectangle with pockets on it that rolls up to close. Does each pocket need its own closure (zipper? velcro?)? What are the the steps? I'm not keen on tying the whole thing together - what are my closure options?

I think you couldl glean some ideas from this one. They use, it looks like, zippers and snaps. A snapped piece is used to put your rings on and snap down. Zippered pockets and pouches is used for necklaces and earrings. And it all closes with a zipper. I may have to try this one for myself

The "RTW" one I have has the long tube thingy for rings that is sewn down at one end and snaps at the other. All the other storage places have zippers. It is of very lightweight fabric to reduce bulk also.

Thanks, Mary. Your link gave me some great ideas for sewing friends' Xmas presents which I need to make soon.

I like the idea of it folding in half (instead of rolling) and closing it up with a zipper. I'm thinking of making the pockets out of clear vinyl.
