I am looking for a source for inexpensive 1/2" to 3/4" round plastic buttons in red, green, and white. I need them for a school project and would probably need about 2,500 of them. The number of holes in the buttons does not matter. Thanks for any suggestions.

I've seen bags of buttons in craft stores that were meant for projects like that. The bags were 25 - 50 buttons, so you'd need quite a few bags.

I agree about checking with craft stores. You can check out Buttons Galore , too.

Fabricmart fabrics has a really great deal on buttons. Click on "bulk buttons" at the bottom of the left column. You can get 4 lbs of buttons for $5--that's thousands of buttons. If you order 2 or 3 bags, you'll likely get enough of the colors you want.

Fabric mart DOES have a great grab bag, however be warned--the buttons I received were natural, black and gold prodominantly--not the colors you wanted.

I got less than a handful of white or colorful buttons.

Good luck with your search.

You can spray paint the plastic buttons with the new krylon plastic paint. It really does stick!

Thanks for the suggestions. I have not been able to find the buttons I need locally. I will check the places you mentioned. I may consider spray painting them--never would have occurred to me to do that!

Thanks again.
