Date: 11/13/06 4:30 PM With all the excitement last spring over the Summer Easy Fashion Issue I decided to order my own, but they were sold out in New Jersey. I had to get mine from Toronto. Checking the Burda website recently, I saw that the Winter Issue was out and it looked really intriguing. Calling NJ, I find out that they're not going to carry it AT ALL and so ended up calling Toronto again. Now, Burda is deciding to publish it in French and German ONLY--I chose the French version, since I can always puzzle it out. I got mine today and loved it--great empire styles. a nice coat, some vests. Anyone else get one? |

Date: 11/13/06 4:44 PM I too was bummed that is was no longer going to be published in English. I got the Spring/Summer one and loved it. If you click on "search boards" at the top of the screen and type in "Burda Easy Fashion", several threads will come up about the language change and the fall issue. It's such a major bummer - maybe if we all wrote Burda, they'd change their mind??? Most likely not, but still worth the effort. ------ "The way I see it, if you want the rainbow, you gotta put up with the rain." ~Dolly Parton

Burda Easy Fashion - German Language
Pretty dresses!
I'm a new convert to Burda WOF (English)--I just subscribed (after tracking down 3 issues on a newsstand) and traced out my first pattern (November 116--sweat shirt top with wrap neckline). While I have a reading knowledge of French, I'll have to pass if it the instructions aren't in English. Yesterday when I was tracing out my patterns, I was adding notches to mark centerpoints. I did remember to add the SA, though.

And Melissa, thanks for pointing out the threads--I guess I wasn't reading the boards back in August. But I'm happy with this issue, even if the descriptions don't make sense to me! |

Date: 11/13/06 10:40 PM I also got this issue in French. They did the same thing last fall, only published it in French and German. I managed to make my daughter a jacket from that issue and found that I as able to sew from the illustrations. I really want to make the short jacket with the tie belt from this issue. I sure hope the spring one is in English again. ------ Yardage sewn in 2008: 12.75
