I am looking for a pattern for one-piece pajama pants in grade school kids' sizes. I have Simplicity 9871, which I use all the time - it's sizes start at a 31 inch hip and go up to 49 inches. And, I have Butterick 5565, which has kids' sizes 2-3-4-5 in one envelope and 6-7-8 in another. I need sizes 10-12-14, or one that's just smaller than the 9871 XS or just larger than the 5565 size 8. After one disaster trying to upsize a pj pant from a smaller pattern (and ending up with enough width to go around the person but a crotch depth that made the pants extremely low rise), I'm nervous about trying to upscale or downscale one of the existing patterns. The one-piece pants are great because they make up so fast - particularly with a serger. It just takes a little getting used to the cutting layout - the large pattern piece needs the whole width so you have to cut your fabric crosswise and turn it before cutting out the pattern piece.

KS 3017 may fit your needs. I use KS 3016 in the smaller sizes and it makes up very fast and has several options. Oh, it's for knits, though. That may not help you.

If I were a sewing machine, all I would have to do is lift up my foot and all my tension would be gone.

You can buy a pattern at the next $1 sale and if the pants are 2 piece just redraft the pants into a one piece pattern. Align the side seams and you are good to go with a one piece pant.
