Wahoo! Just what I need to get started on the skirts I've been dreaming of.

Is there any particular pattern we will need to start or will any straight-ish skirt pattern work? Maybe a sloper pattern? Just trying to get a head start and catch a 99c pattern sale. :)

Jen, A sloper pattern is perfect for the first skirt. The second can be anything you like.

Shannon, do you have us draft our own skirt pattern, or should we be prepared with a commercial pattern? Thanks much, Ann

Sharon, I read in the feedback for this class that the students do duct tape fitting. If so, are we taking the skirt pattern, right from our body measurements?

Are pockets, zippers, vents, waistbands and no-waistband options, covered too?

Thanks

For this class, we'll start with a commercial pattern. Drafting would be an entire class in itself, and might be something to look into for the future:)

The duct tape fitting is another class...this class will be simply fitting a muslin to your own body. We use a combination of class lessons and student feedback (through a message board and a class photo gallery) to acheive the best fit possible in a skirt.

Would the HotPatterns Plain & Simple skirt work for the first skirt?
