Does anyone have any information on the Singer Touch-Tronic 2005 Memory machine? I have just acquired one and need parts, like power cord, etc. I also would like to know how old this machine is. Does anyone know??

Thanks
Sharon

My mom had a Singer Touch Tronic 2010 brand new in 1985. So I has to be before 85. She loved that machine and simply wore it to the bone. One thing she really liked on her 2010 was the fact that she could wind a bobbin without taking it out of the machine. It didn't have metal feed dogs but rubber ones.

When she finally traded it in for a Viking, they told her that it could not sew anymore and 20 years of using it hours a week was all that 2010 could take.

For parts, go to Singer's web site and see who a local authorized dealer is. They might be able to get parts.

I used to have a 2001 and DSis had a 2010 but I don't remember the 2005. I bought the 2001 in 1980.

I got mine new in 1983 for my college graduation gift! Have you had any luck finding parts? I can't seem to find the right bobbins.

Around 1981-ish. Singer gives you the owners book and parts list free on line.

Since the missing cords would also have the missing foot control attached to them though, I don't think you should actually pay for and buy anything like that for it though, or I would just not ever, wihout knowing in advance if that would make it work good enough for you to sew on it ever, just because if it won't even work good or power on with those extra and working and missing things, then you have probably wasted all your money in even buying them, and would be out a lot of money even there, good after bad.

Instead I think you should find someone whom already has them, and will just let you try to plug them into your machine free first instead. Then if you really like that machine and it works fine like that, only then buy them! That is just sort of common sense, at least to me.

I'm sure lots of parts for it are probably no longer made. Particular things like the computer boards. That really might makea whole bunch of people just toss a machine and just keep the cords and foot pedals instead. So if you find one like that some place, maybe something to for sure consider or at least watch out for. The drop in bobbins it would take are those clear ones with a black circle drawn on it, with no little metal piece on the top of them. Which would not be the same as the clear ones with white drawn on them, or the clear ones with a black circle drawn on them, and with a metal piece sticking up from the top of them instead. I think it's always fine to waste a few bucks on some bobbins, even if you are never going to use a machine, but probably kind of wasteful to blow $50 or $60 bucks on it instead, if it was never going to be used. Just my thoughts.

Lost all of my bobbins for my Touchtronic 2005 and couldn't find replacements at my local fabric store. Thanks for posting the PDF of the parts list. I looked it up, plugged the part number into google and came up with a supplier . For anyone else looking for the correct bobbins the current part number for the bobbin is Singer #181551. The link to buy them is:
