Date: 1/29/07 11:24 AM OK, here's the thing.
I've designed a pattern for something and I'm about at the final design after tweaking and making practise items.
I would like to sell this pattern and or the product as a home business. Does anyone know how I go about this?
Sorry to be so vague, once I get it legally mine I will of course post piccies and review it.

Date: 1/29/07 11:49 AM I have several crochet designer virtual friends. They sell their patterns at Etsy.com as downloadable pdfs, and they sell them from their own websites, again, as downloadable pdfs.
This might be somewhere to start. You could create a pattern that gets taped together from 8.5x11 sheets and sell it as a downloadable pattern.
I'm sure Josi would be willing to talk to you about what she does. Let me know if you want to be put in contact. ------ Neefer aka AgitProp and Village Churl Sewing Blog: http://www.oaktrees.org/blog/
Bonny lass, bonny lass, will you be mine?
You shall neither wash dishes nor serve the wine;
But sit on a cushion and sew a fine seam,
And feast upon strawberries, sugar, and cream. |

Date: 1/29/07 12:13 PM Lou that sounds so exciting! I think that Neefer has a great idea. Having it as a download will offload the printing costs to the purchaser and save you overhead. If your design proves really popular, then perhaps you could do a limited print run, and advertise it as such. Maybe approach Deepika about offering it here as well once it is all finalized. ------ Like Miss Frizzle says "Take chances, make mistakes ..." isn't that what fitting is all about? I am happily taking chances and making mistakes as I fit muslin after muslin ...

Date: 1/30/07 8:02 PM Actually i just recently did what you are about to do. It took me a long long time find a place that would print out a full sized pattern. I could point you to where i got it printed if you live in LA.
And thanks for the idea of selling on etsy.
and ill leave you with a shameless plug
