I'm new to knitting. I've made a pillow top (square, knit stitch), a scarf (rectangle, knit stitch), and a hat (round loom).

I need help jumping to the next step. Do you have recommendations for simple patterns to make something other than a scarf?

Perhaps two needle mittens would be a good project, if you have a use for them. This would give you a chance to do increases, decreases, pick up stitches, etc. Let me know if you are interested, I believe there are some free patterns on the internet that might work. Enjoy knitting! Tinka

A beanie or hat would be another idea, if you could use one. Tea pot cosies and egg cosies are similar to knit. Have you any use for doll or teddy bear clothes? On these you can try out lots of techniques without using too much yarn. Stuffed toy animals also have lots of diferent techniques.

Thank you ladies. I think I will try the mittens and a hat. I'm sure it will take me a while to complete, but I think I am up for it. I googled 2 needle mittens and found a pattern. Thanks again.
