or

I noticed on the ad for Pfaff in the back of my Threads magazine that it says something like: "Sews on ANY color fabric!" I thought that was pretty funny, but then got to wondering if I either read it wrong, or there is something I am missing about how sewing machines work. Did anybody else notice that ad?

I think it is I had to go look in my Threads and yes, "Sews on All colors of fabric!" is what it says. Wow, isn't that amazing, a sewing machine that recognizes what color fabric you are using! I'll bet they meant "all types of fabrics", but what a horrible error for a full page add.

Was the ad in regards to a stitch regulator? I am uncertain but I think Bernina's does not recognize a color, either black or red (I'm uncertain) so maybe Pfaff was just boasting that theirs recognizes all colors.

I saw that ad too, when I was browsing the Threads mag while waiting in line at Jo-Ann's. I also thought what a strange thing to say and I don't remember if it had anything to do with a stitch regulator or not.

Yes, it is referring to the stitch regular. the Bernina does not recognize all colors, so, pfaff is tooting their horn

I believe the ad refers to the Pfaff Fabric mover with Stitch Regulator by Quilter's Cruise Control.

In my first post I said maybe Pfaff was boasting..but I think tooting is probably the best way to put it.

You're kidding! It was serious? But now I am really wondering what the point of recognizing colors is in regards to the stitch regulator. What difference does it make whether or not the stitch regulator can recognize a color (or all colors)?

Machines sure have gotten complicated...
