Can anyone tell me something about the Burda World of Fashion Magazine. I went on their website, but was unable to figure out the cost of a subscription. Can't imagine it's free??? Does it contain free patterns?

you can get it through GPL News or Amazon.com (who gets it through GPL News). They do have a couple of free downloads (which I have downloaded and are on my other now not working computer). I guess I have to download them onto this one.

Here's the link.

Here is a new experimental download site. Burda-Style.com

You can buy a subscription from Amazon.com for about $70. GLP news (am I remembering the name right?) also sells it in both yearly and half-year subscriptions. NAYY
There's a few free patterns on the BWOF website. It's under the heading "free dowloads". There's also purchased downloads.
That website is so hard to navigate--even after I get it translated to english.

You can get a subscription at GLP News. The magzine includes patterns for all the featured styles each month. Two large sheets are folded and stapled into the center of the magazine. You need to take these sheets out, unfold them, find the pattern you want, and trace the pattern pieces onto tracing paper or something like pattern-ease. The sewing instructions are minimal and sometimes impossible to figure out but the patterns are generally well drafted.

ETA Some Borders stores carry the magazine. You might be able to buy a single issue to preview. They charge $8.50 per issue.

Hi, I've been wondering about this too. My Borders doesn't carry this; they have Threads, Vogue Patterns, etc. I've never seen WOF and I'm curious!

You can also buy a 6 month subscription for about $40 from GLP. I recommend it; the patterns are nice quality and getting a new batch each month satisfies my new-pattern craving. Sort of.

I have recently asked Burda cost subscription for a year and it is 66.24 euros.
In fact on Vonnevo's recommendation I telephoned them last night (I live in New Zealand) - and arranged my subscription over the phone - I dealt with someone who could speak englaish
