I was kind of wondering if there were any other Puget Sound dwellers out there...

Gina,

While I'm no longer a Puget Sound dweller, in my heart I'm still a Northwest girl.  I grew up in Lake Forest Park (North of Seattle) and lived in the Seattle area until I got married 3 years ago.  Now I live in Reno, NV and am still getting used to the climate change.

I still come up to the Seattle area to visit frequently as all my family and several good friends are still there.

I'm here in Bellevue!  I also often wondered if there were many other Seattle area people here.  I was envious of the avid Boston area posters who seemed to find each other!

I was born and raised.  I moved to Dallas almost 4 years ago for my company.  I miss the weather terribly.  It is Nov 26th and it was almost 75 degrees here today, ugh.  However, I must say traffic is non-existent here and you can access anything, and park just about anywhere here, and the fabric/sewing shopping is great.  But, you can take the girl out of the NW, but you can't take the NW out of the girl!

I'm a Coug alum too.  We actually had an Apple Cup watching party down here, there's about a crowd of 40 of both Dawgs and Cougs that meet every year to cheer on their team.  I may be up to see family around the time of the Puyallup sewing expo in Feb, not sure yet.

Oh missing the water and mountains...Kristen

I'm in Bellevue also.  Moved to the NW when I was 11 and immediately fell in love with it, including the rain. :wow: Went to college and worked my first job in Minnesota.  Then lived in Tucson for 4 years.  Was thrilled to return here - almost 18 years ago.  I sometimes miss the Minnesota snow - though not driving in it.  Tucson weather got boring - too many perfect days in a row.

Gina,
I live in Oak Harbor, too.  I'm just returning to sewing after years away from it. Right now, I'm making some kwik sew t-shirts for my 3 year old.  I haven't  made any thing for myself.  I just bought Real Fit for Real People and want to learn how to fit myself so any clothes I sew myself will look good.

I guess I'm the only one that's in Seattle proper. :)  So far, anyway.  I just got here about two years ago, and got my machine last year.  I've been lurking and learning. :)

Ironically, I learned about the wonders of Seattle Fabrics online, when I live about six blocks away from the actual store!  (I knew it was there, just didn't realise what relevant things there were inside.)

Hi Gina,

Formerly I am from Puget Sound, I've lived in the Spokane area for 10 years.  Oh, and I don't miss the rain or traffic!  I do visit family there from time to time and look forward to the Sewing Expo.

We have the Sewing Studio mail order fabrics and Sew Easy Too, both excellent stores and the usual chain fabric and craft stores here.  I'm looking for a new sewing machine and am interested in the new Janome professional model but haven't checked it out yet.

Glad to see the other Washingtonians out there!
Kristen, glad you're still following the Cougs from Dallas.  I'm in a mixed marriage...I'm a Husky and DH's a Coug.  I must admit the game was rather shocking this year.  I couldn't even gloat.

Karen, I can't imagine ever moving from here.  The weather this time of year does make me wonder however.

Susan, I just knew there had to be someone near me.  Kirianth, I haven't checked out Seattle Fabrics yet.  I lived on Queen Anne for years and never thought I'd become an Eastsider.  Never say never!

I'm going to be out of town for the Expo this year.  I've only been once a couple years ago, and was such a new sewer that I was overwhelmed.  Gosh I wish I could go this year!  I'd take every class I could.

Hoping for my first serger for Christmas.  I'm keeping my fingers crossed!

I live in Snohomish !
Moved to Washington about 35 years ago from the East Coast. Have worked in High Tech Companies in the area and am now retired at a young 59 years.

The American Sewing Guild has a very active chapter with many neighborhood groups in the area. Check out the website bellevueASG.org. WE are mostly intermediate or advanced garment sewists.

I was just elected the first Education Chair (mainly because noone else was brave enough). We plan to have a national speaker for an all day seminar. Doesn't that sound like fun?I have already called many possible speakers like Loes Hinse, Claire Schaeffer, and Susan Khalje. They answer their own phones and are extremely wonderful.

There are lots of Pattern Master Boutique users here too and there are meetings in North Seattle and in Bellevue once a month.
