Date: 3/3/07 11:02 AM I'm not sure where to post this so here you go: my version of the lacy knit skirt from Hollywood Knits by Suss Cousins.
I used Margrite Karabella yarn in fuschia. Wonderful yarn, beasty project, only because I perpetually had to undo the lace, modify the pattern as I went along (with the great, knowledgeable staff at Arcadia Knitting). I haven't worn this skirt yet because I need the proper undergarments. Spanx here I come ready or not! I see the skirt with black fishnet stockings, a sexy, open-toe black wedgies and a matching stretch lace *sewn* (I swear I hate knitting, really, sewing's much easier) top with bell-sleeves ala Victoria's Secret. Any other suggestions?
I must be slightly insane because I'm doing the same pattern again (at least this time I'm making the right size) in a teal yarn. I still make mistakes in my lace, grrr. It's a winter skirt, I figure I'll be done in time for spring.

Date: 3/4/07 10:04 PM Shoot - I don't know if it's my computer or what, but I can't open the link to see your skirt. Now now, do you really hate knitting, or is it a love/hate thing? |

That sure is a pretty skirt, sewist! I'm just starting to learn some lace stitches, so I can relate to your frustration. |

Date: 3/5/07 7:52 AM oooohhhh I love the skirt! It's really an awesome piece. Looks like it was knit on tiny needles too so must've taken some time. Love the color too! ------ - Deepika

Date: 3/6/07 7:35 AM Thanks all for kudos. It was knit on size 8 needles, which I don't think is too small. Do I really "hate" knitting? Nah. It's a love-hate thing, kind of like the relationship I have with my crochet hook at times. ;) ------ Author, Fabric U and Yarn U iPhone apps |

Date: 4/19/07 9:24 AM Yay! Just finished the obligatory knitting and can now knit and sew for pleasure again!!!! The craziness of deadlines amazes me, but another one has been met.
Now for the things that have been ignored for the past 3 to 4 weeks, both chorewise, knitting and sewing. Here is a list of the sad projects sitting in my various knitting baskets.
1. A Dale Sweater for my youngest son.
2. A Ruana for someone that would like it.
3. Socks for my DH.
4. Socks for me.
5. Design for gloves for Julie.
6. Rogue by Girl From Auntie for my youngest daughter.
I think that is all.
One thing at a time is not my style. LOL
Is there anyone else out there with more projects than can be finished in a decade? |
