Subject: time Date: 4/15/07 6:12 PM Hi Kenneth!
Once my materials are assembled to do the buttonholes and pocket, I can sit down and accomplish this in a day? Just want to make sure I can get this done in a week's timeframe before starting the Pants Muslin class. I want to squeeze in this class if I can.
I sew slow and savor the moment though . ------ Big 4 Pattern size 12, RTW bottom: 6, RTW jacket 8, RTW top (no size fits me well!)
Measurements: 34 HB/36 FB (34C bra)/27.5/36 (and working hard to keep it that way.)
Machines: Sewing (Janome Memory Craft 3000 and Kenmore 158 Series machine), Serger (Babylock Imagine), Embroidery (Janome 300E)
If you think your sewing is better than everyone else's around here, get out of my way b****. I hate sewing snobs.

Subject: Re: time Date: 4/15/07 9:17 PM I'd give it a whole day, if that's what you're asking. There are three processes--the buttonhole (the shortest), the piped pocket (a little longer), and the curved pocket (the most time-consuming to learn).... |

Subject: Answer Date: 4/15/07 9:47 PM Yes, that answers my question. Maybe allow 2 days for the first two, and two days for the last one. ------ Big 4 Pattern size 12, RTW bottom: 6, RTW jacket 8, RTW top (no size fits me well!)

Date: 10/19/07 2:05 PM Are the piped pocket and buttonhole only used on coats - or are they appropriate for blouses/pants also? |

Subject: Re: Pre Registration Q&A Date: 10/19/07 5:35 PM These bound buttonholes work better on coats and other tailored garments. I've set them into blouse-weight fabrics, but they have interlining in them, which bulks the fabric up... |

Date: 4/18/09 6:33 PM although i have sent a question through the other channel i will ask here also.
I have only just found this lesson.
Do the students make samples. or do we need to have a jacket in progress.
As i have not noticed any question posted here for some time.
I was wondering if there are many doing the class.
It is Sunday morning in Australia.
Is it to late to join on Monday our time.

Subject: Re: Pre Registration Q&A Date: 4/18/09 8:38 PM The study here is making samples for now. I suggest that making the samples will give you the practice, and confidence, to use these when you decide the kind of garment you will be making.
You can join after (I believe), as we will have two more chats...
