Does anyone have recommendation of sewing shows on TV - like maybe HGTV? I found Sewing with Nancy on Public TV (very early Saturdays) and some quilting.
Thanks

Susan Khalje has had a show called Sew Much More on the DIY channel on cable. I haven't watched in a while since I've seen every show several times. I guess it's still on. I don't think she's doing new ones any more--these are all reruns. I have to say, watching her show made a believer in hand basting out of me! I really enjoyed it. It's too bad there's such a dearth of sewing programs on TV. When Sandra Betzina's show went off the air, I went into mourning!

HGTV in my area used to have "Simply Quilts" in early am but now that's cancelled. I haven't found any since, either.

There's one on Bringham Young's Cable station that also gets picked up by my local Public TV station. I don't watch it. Too much lace and embroidery for me. But, I do like Sew Much More which does still re-run on DIY Network.

There's a show on DIY that's called Uncommon Threads. They don't always have sewing on there and sometimes the stuff they do is just down right stupid. But sometimes it's good. I'm finding too many of the newer craft shows are geared towards a younger group with a lot of impractical stuff shown on them.

PBS & CREATE are about it. Susan K. on DIY is the only one that does more upscale items.

Most are old shows, but there are always techniques to be learned here and there. I record the PBS shows & check them out later to see if there is anything I missed.

You can check out the listing online for CREATE...my guide does not list HD channels like CREATE, and I do not have the ability to record the HD channels.

America Quilts Creatively has techniques that could apply to more than quilts.

America Sews hawks too many products and is now leaning more toward crafty things.

Fons & Porter's Love of Quilting has done some machine embroidery. Otherwise they stick to quilts.

HGTV has gone plain stupid. I don't watch it anymore. They moved some of their shows to DIY, for which I have to pay extra. If it weren't for the BIO channel's British mysteries, that tier would be canceled by me!

I miss Sandra too! I have caught a few of SMM, but I think they are old shows.

There is another post indicating that Sandra is recovering from complications after surgery. Sent a "wish you well" to her website.

RFD-TV (Directv Channel 379) is carrying Eleanor Burns quilting program "Quilt in a Day". Looks like it comes on Saturday at 11 a.m.

What's CREATE? An HD channel?

And I agree HGTV is awful now! And a lot of the shows on DIY that are crafty type things are ridiculous!! I mean does anybody really want to make a purse out of an office spandex file???
