Just read this review of the new Nancy Drew movie - page 2 says that she's dressed in "vintage Butterick patterns" - it seems so specific, I think it might be true! Too funny!!!
Anyone know anything else?

I'd go see the movie just to see Nancy Drew's clothes. Too bad my 14-yr-old DD considers herself too old for this movie. She was, however, a voracious Nancy Drew reader when she was younger.
I especially like the message that you can participate in today's culture (I-pods, internet, etc.) and still be your own person. And be confident enough to wear penny loafers in a world of flip-flops and Uggs.

Flip-flops and Uggs make me go (are you ready for it?)
They have their place, really they do, but I went to a graduation ceremony last night and everyone thinks that flip flops go with everything or something like that..... they don't!
And well.... Uggs make sense int he wintertime.
I liked Nancy Drew, and I think it would fun to see the movie, even if I had to go myself.

What?? They don't??
You'll have to pry mine off my cold dead feet when the time comes. Unless it's winter. Then I'll be wearing mules of some sort.

I'm really looking forward to seeing this movie and can wait to check out the fashions now too!! My oldest DD has read a few Nancy Drews and doesn't really care for them (they are really "dated"). But I loved them when I was young and devoured alot of them and always checked them out from the library each week. It's also nice to take my 3 DDs to a movie that doesn't seem have some silly actress who keeps getting herself in the news for some mindless dribble ( I won't list the many young actresses who don't seem to have their brain cells working). It seems like a funny, good and yes, wholesome movie.

I probably won't get to see it in theatres, but I am dying to see this movie! Who cares if I'm "too old" for it, haha. I love the Nancy Drew books. And to hear her clothes are from vintage patterns makes me even more eager.
I'm crystalnickel on Ravelry!

I don't do Drew, but I do like to watch movies that are suppose to be taking place pre 1950.
The British movies have the best clothing. I find myself lost in the details of what the actors are wearing instead of the plot!

Cool! I'll be keeping my eyes peeled. DM won tickets for a promo screening here and gave them to my DD's and I so we're all off to see it on Sunday. We'd have waited for the video otherwise.

I went to see the movie on Sunday. Nancy's clothes are extremely cute. Her B-Day party dress is to die for! My 7 yr old DD proclaimed her love for all clothes al la Nancy!!
Nancy wore quite a bit of fitted clothes, lots of short A-line dresses, and of course, penny loafers! The penny loafers made me laugh. I wore them throughout highschool in the 1980s, when they definetly weren't 'in.'
The movie is 'cute.'
This is one my favorites outfits
