My parents gave me a gift subscription to Burda WOF for my birthday last month. I am so excited! I've bought a few from Borders but my local Borders quit carrying them. Anyway, I am eagerly awaiting my first issue. I remember people here on the boards talking about how late they often receive their issues, sometimes missing an issue entirely (did that stop me from wanting it? no) so I was wondering generally when you find your issues arrive. I live in New England, if that makes a difference. My mom placed the order about 3 weeks ago so I figure an issue of some kind (the June one? the July one?) must be on its way to me sometime in the near future.

Hi Julia,
I'm in North Carolina and mine usually comes between the 1st and 10th for that month's issue. The latest I've received one was the April 2007 issue came on 04-16-07. I would suspect you'll receive the July issue the first week or so of July.

I live in NY and it comes the first week of the month usually, except for April, which I didn't get. I emailed them mid month and they sent me another one right out. So, the moral of this story is, keep track and if you don' get it by the second week I'd email and complain. By the way it is mailed from NJ, which should mean those of us in adjoining states should get it before those in California, or so you'd think!

What a great gift! I had subscribed to Burda in the past, and just resubscribed through Amazon.com. I subscribed in March and the first issue I received was the June issue. It stated that it takes 8-10 weeks for the first magazine to arrive. The first time I subscribed, I went through GLP News and I think it took just as long for the first issue to get to me. But once they start arriving, they come regularly.

Thanks so much for the info. Perhaps I shouldn't count on using it for any items until my fall wardrobe. :)

I'm in NC and I usually get mine the 2nd or 3rd week of the month (it's sporadic though, sometimes it may come during the 1st week). I received the April issue VERY late, the last day of April, however I received both April and May's issue on that day. I have never not received an issue. The delivery schedule doesn't bother me though because I have a long list of things I want to work on from older issues.

I'm also awaiting a first issue of a new subscription. I ordered through Amazon on May 16th - I'm crossing my fingers for the July issue but I think I'm another one going to sewing in August or September at the rate this is going!
