Sewing a wardrobe is a big task. For those of us who sew slower, or have had distractions of various sorts, doing 10 items (or more) in a 3-month period doesn't necessarily happen.

So, as suggested in the contest board, here is a thread to continue supporting the efforts of your fellow wardrobe sew-ists.

- What you are wardrobe finishing goals?
- How many items do you have left?
- Are you going to tweak your wardrobe plan?

Of course, as of today we still have some time (2 weeks) to finish up within the contest period. And a lot of sewing can get done in 2 weeks. But I know that many wardrobes will be not yet finished.

So: are you going to continue & finish up your wardrobe, even after July 31st comes and goes?

Anne, who will be the former contest moderator come August.

I'll join you Anne. Due to being summer vacation, I didn't even get to plan the entire thing. I had pulled out fabric samples and made some matches for a partial wardrobe. I think I have enough ideas for a full plan though since the contest required different sets of matches (capsules) rather than everything going together of a SWAP. I like the capsules better anyway. I can usually find enough matches in my stash for a capsule, but not for a whole set of 11 pieces.

I just finished off 3 simple t's this week while making progress toward a Better Tee Master Pattern. I am currently in progress on a skirt that go with them. Then I have another set of 2 skirts and 4-5 tops (variations on my Tee pattern) that will make another capsule.

I had hoped to get pants in, but I'm still working on that. I'm desparate enough for clothes that I will make up these quickly, then take the time to work more on my pants pattern.

So, yes I will continue with my wardrobe plan. I didn't enter the contest because I knew I'd likely not finish, but I worked alongside and got a few things done. That is a prize in itself! I had better get my things done before I have to get started on a few things for school for the kids!

I will definitely be joining this post-contest group. I have only completed two pieces so far, and I don't think I will be able to complete more that three more within the next two weeks. But I am still very excited about the wardrobe and want to finish all ten pieces. If I make any changes to my plan, it would probably in the fabric selection. Maybe I would use some weightier fabric for a couple of pieces so they can be worn in summer and early fall.

Thanks for starting this thread because I will need the encouragement of others who will still be working on their wardrobes.

I'll definitely be here with the stragglers in two weeks time. I've made one top and have my pants and jacket cut out... and that's it.

Of course I lost a month's time plus motivation due to my husband's illness. Not beating myself up about it, but I definitely lost a chunk of sewing time.

I'm getting back on track, however, and will be ready to finish this thing up.

I am going with the original plan, with one dress variation. So my plan is 1 jacket, 3 pants, 1 skirt, 1 2-piece dress, 5 tops. My wardrobe plan is HERE.

My jacket is my accessory, except I found the perfect fabric (well it showed up in the mail...) for a purse to go with the white suit. I will make several test purses unti I find a style I like, then I'll make the purse in the mod fabric I was given.

My new deadline I want to give myself (otherwise this could take til next summer) is Labor Day (I get to sew ON Labor Day, too... :)

See you back here in two weeks time! Meantime I"ll continue in the Wardrobe Contest thread,

I am a little unsure how to do a review on a pattern I have made several pieces from. I haven't posted my pants as yet, I am working on the last one and 2 of them are from the same pattern. Same for 2 of the tops.
Also, I entered the jacket/accessory and it is listed in the reviews as being entered in the contest, but it doesn't show up in the contest gallery. Did I miss doing something? The other 2 pieces are there.
Everything is cut out and I will have 4 tops to sew after my pants are finished. All pretty easy except for one. I am hoping to make an extra bottom, a knit skirt that should be very easy.
I will finish!
This swap has been a great experience for me. I am planning to do one for the fall based on 2 jackets, one I made last winter and one from the year before that I don't have a lot of bottoms that they go with. Also planning tops too.

Hi Nancy - since others probably have the same question, I am going to answer you over on the contest thread. Good luck finishing within the contest time frame! Maybe you will have to joing this thread for those extra items you are planning.

I plan on finishing. I've wanted to stop sooooo many times. I'm doing 5 tops, 3 bottoms, 2 dresses and 1 accessory. I've completed:

4 tops
2 bottoms
1 dress

Currently working on my jacket which will be listed as a (#5) top.

I'm finished, but I plan to just keep sewing. I figured out how to do a 'stage 2, 3 and 4' plan, and I think that I will at least complete stage 2 before the end of the summer. Still, I would love to keep this discussion going. You have all been 'sew fun' to be around, and it motivated me to get sewing. I hope I can share the motivation with all of you as you work your way to the wardrobe finish line!

I will have sewn enough items to match the requirements for the Wardrobe Contest by the close date, but I've also dropped a couple of items from my original plan which I want to include back in again after the contest ends. In particular the safari style jacket, in light khaki in this pattern.

h great Ruthis, we get to see the safari jacket. I am so glad you are going ahead and making this.It will just complete the whole wardrobe. Not that it is not a fantastic wardrobe already.
