Date: 7/23/07 10:48 PM Yeah, I've been sifting through my patterns trying to decide which ones to use. This is going to be fun, and the best part is that it gives me even more incentive to sew these wonderful things up!

Date: 7/23/07 11:48 PM Thank you, Joanne! I can't wait to see all the entries and read the reviews. ------ We all have a dark side. Looking at my fabric stash, I am forced to admit that my dark side is pink. |

Date: 7/24/07 3:35 AM This contest is on at the same time as the UFO contest and boy! do I have a lot of items which I could sew for that. But I will try to sew one item for this contest, even if it is something like a simple 70s knit. ------ Sewing in Derbyshire, England

Date: 7/24/07 6:47 AM Wow, what a great contest! I would really like to join, but I must think about it as I will be away the entire month of August.
Well, joining the contest or just lurking, it will definitely be fun!

Date: 7/24/07 11:17 AM Hi Everyone!
Thanks for organizing this Fiberfan! Great job!
I'm definitely in and if more than one item of clothing is allowed, I'll try to sew a few things for this contest. If not, I'll just pick one. Right now, I'm seriously thinking about a 50s bouffant dress. And I also want to make a couple of twinsets, one from a 40s pattern I've had for a few years (woven) and another from a 70s pattern that I just bought (knit). And because I really like the Jackie style right now, I just bought several 60s dress patterns with fun details, but they look easy to sew, so I might make a few of those, too. And although I wasn't planning to, I'll also try to sew a reissue. :-) I have a lot of them in my collection and am thinking about one from the Vogue line. I have a huge fabric stash, so I probably won't have to go fabric shopping for any of these. :-)
I'm not certain exactly how much sewing I'll be able to get done, but that's a short list of what I'd like to sew. :-O
I'm really looking forward to seeing what everyone's making. It's going to be great eye candy! I can't wait to see those wonderful vintage styles coming to life.

Date: 7/24/07 11:26 AM August is the perfect month for sewing where I live (it's been 100+ degrees for a month and no cooling in sight and our air quality is ... well, let me just say, the word quality should not be used when talking about the air around here with all the fires, heat-trapped smog, and lack of rain.) All of my other hobbies require nice weather, so sewing will get much more attention than I give it in the spring and fall.
I have about 5 vintage patterns itching away in my sewing closet, calling my name everytime I sift through them. If I enter the contest, I'll get that nice little boost in motivation to get one underway.
Question: Can I pre-treat the fabric prior to August 1st?
No worries, I will not start marking, fitting and cutting until August 1st!
