Date: 8/15/07 10:21 AM Several years ago I know this was true. If it's still the case, I understand that the Big 4 make all their samples in a size 10.
Needless to say, the models are not size 10. So for the photoshoots they use clothes pins to take in at the back so that the clothes don't fall off the model during a shoot.
It used to be that they would loan out the photoshoot garments to Local Fabric stores for style shows, and therefore the size 10 worked well in communities across America.
I don't know if that is still the case, but it seems so, given the extremely poor fit of many garments. I can't think that that pant fit is that poor, but rather is the unfortunate placement of a clothespin or two.
The designer garments that Vogue feature in their photos are the actual designer garments, and are made to the model size for runways, so they usually don't have that problem.
