I have a big pile of chocolate brown, burnt ornage and cream fabrics to sew a lovely co-ordinated fall wardrobe (Autumn to me as I'm a Brit).
As my colour season is also Autumn I am in my element.

As this is in the Sew Along section there are no rules particularly, and no prizes other than the garments you sew.
I have a dress to sew for a party on 1st September so probably won't be starting sewing just yet.

My aim is to sew during September, October and November a co-ordinated wardrobe of garments which allows me to make many outfits. As I work in an office my wardrobe will be biased towards relaxed business clothing.

Currently I plan to sew at least one softly tailored jacket, several pants/skirts/gauchos, 4 or 5 tops and a large tote (to take my lunch!) and get at least one week's worth of office outfits from that. I also have purchased and previously sewn items in my wardrobe which use similar colours and would extend the wardrobe further.

Anyone want to join me in some fall wardrobe sewing?

Yes 100%. I will join you. Autumn to me also. I desperately need new clothes.
Mine will have trouser( 3 pairs would be ideal). Brown, black & grey. Boring but i already have brown & grey in stock as it were.
Several tops, blouses etc. I fancy at least one top with reverse bias collar. Back button opening. I wondered if i could get a vintage pattern for one. None of our usual pattern manufactures seem to have one just now.

I to will be making things to go with /fill the gaps with what i already have. This would be a very good positive project for me to start to plan tonight. Off to do that now.
Thanks Ruthie. Hope my wardrobe is as sucess full as your SWAP wardrobe.
Will get back to you with a list at least.

Yay - sounds great. I definitely need group motivation - I never would have completed my summer wardrobe without it!could

The theme for my fall/winter wardrobe will be "Top Ten" - it's my way of sewing up all those "one-offs" that might not get sewn otherwise. Right now I'm planning on black slacks (pattern tbd), a white blouse (view D - I think that will fit under sweaters/coats best) and a chic trench coat (view tbd). If anyone sees any fabric online that makes them think "someone has GOT to make a chic trench coat out of this!" - let me know.

Count me in - though I'll be making an antipodean spring/summer SWAP. I eternally need business wear, so for me that'll be 4 skirts, 5 shirts and an unlined jacket.

I'm in too. I need some fall clothes for work and have some of the same colours as you, Ruthie. My goal is to create a dress-casual wardrobe of browns, oranges, pinks, and beiges.

Here's the tentative plan:

3 trousers
2 pairs of jeans
? skirts
2 - 3 jackets
? dress shirts
1 wool winter coat

The last three items are going to be challenging as I have yet to perfect bodice fit. My August challenge was to work on fitting the bodice, but I have yet to get started. I hope to do so soon though...

From what others have said, the nasty message came from Fitting Woes, NOT Misc Hot Topics or the Civility thread.

Count me in! I'm hope that by joining this sew-along I'll be motivated even after school starts. (School is a big stress right now as teachers start on Monday and for the fourth year in a row I'm not entirely sure what classes band/choir/orchestra or even in which school I'll be teaching. It's a good thing I love my job!) I've got my plan together and am finalizing some fabric choices right now. I'll post a list as soon as I can.

I don't have anyone in my circle of friends that is sewing-obsessed. So glad I discovered this group!

I too am going to use this SWAP to motivate myself. I had big plans for a fall wardrobe but my mother was just diagnosed with dementia. I'm still in shock but envisioning myself spending lots more time visiting her. I think I'll need -emotionally- whatever small wardrobe sewing I can do. Thanks for being here!

Well Ruthie, I looked at all my Burda's last night (feb 07 - Aug 07). Thought a good palce to start.

So definates are:
Aug 07 High waisted trousers 103 - grey
Aug 07 long sleeved gathered tie front blouse 117 (colour undecided)

April O7 blouse 103 , but as a cardi with ribbon trim(hopefully turquoise blue knit fabric if i can find some)

wil make a proper list with links ( ha! links? will take me as long as it does to sew, to do them)
I have in front of me a list of 12 possialbe garmetns all form the above mentioned BWOF.
i just got a wee bit caried away . Was sewing in my sleep!
