Date: 9/9/07 10:44 PM WOW is an understatement. I have just spent a week with this machine and can't begin to talk about it without my mind getting overwhelmed by all its features and abilities. I expected a few new features and gadgets but never imagined what they have come out with. |

Date: 9/19/07 4:47 PM What about bobbin. Is it normal that you have to add several times thread while making even small embroidery or is there something new. I'm waiting for a bobbing for at least a whole spool of thread. Or what a heck plain spool instead of metal / plastic small bobbin.

Date: 9/19/07 5:29 PM Arto, it's my understanding that the new Vision has the largest capacity bobbin available on a home sewing machine.
On my 2170 I use the pre-wound bobbins that come with cardboard on the sides and they hold about twice as much as the regular bobbin and last through most of even the largest embroidery designs. (BTW - They work great in a Pfaff but my Bernina can't handle them so the pre-wound bobbins don't work on every machine.)

Date: 9/19/07 9:47 PM My dealer had the new CV last week. I didn't ask about bobbin capacity, but the CV does have a drop in bobbin. The dealer said it's impossible to wind the new bobbin incorrectly or insert it into the machine wrong. Guess that's a good thing, but I'm still not convinced the drop in bobbin is good.
It also does not have a lever to raise and lower the presser foot. There is a button for up and one for down. And the machine is HUGE!!! With the embroidery unit on, I'd guess it's close to 3 feet in length. |

Subject: New pfaff Creative Vision Date: 9/20/07 6:22 AM Thank you all for your answers . Now I have another question.
Next site: http://eon.businesswire.com/newsbycategory/12/2007-09-15/0/index.htm
says that: "PFAFF(R)--the world's leading brand of premier sewing and embroidery machines, announced the introduction of its CREATIVE VISION(TM) line, the most advanced sewing and embroidery machine in the consumer marketplace. The CREATIVE VISION machine is the first in a series to be launched on the new PFAFF platform which sets a new standard for the PFAFF range with more sewing space combined with signature features that deliver precise sewing and embroidery results."
is the first in a series? What this mean? Are there coming different kind of machines like sergers within VISION product line etc. OR is now launched CREATIVE VISION the first and the most modest of its product line and after some time there would be CREATIVE VISION II (pro version => 'waiting that version') or is the current CREATIVE VISION the PRO version (=> 'buy now') and following ones would be more modest ones OR what, anyone knows or have a feeling about this?
What the Pfaff history tells ...->2140->2144->2170 is that now launched CREATIVE VISION is the modest one and there would be 'more PRO' ones after this launch.
Thanks,

So far it appears to be only in looks. The Pfaff site shows the Select Line of mechanical machines having the same design scheme-flat colored front. I asked Pfaff customer service yesterday if this was going to carry over to all their machines and the woman said they didn't know. In fact, she said they don't get to know very much. It's as if they are the last to find out.

That's is the way it is. It seemed to me when I worked for a dealer and we went to training classes or ''creative seminars'' that many sewing machine companies keep things private even from their dealers because a great many dealers sell more than one brand and they feel the need to protect their product/brand, etc. I do know that Pfaff gives preferential treatment and deals to their ''Pfaff'' only dealers. It's a very competitive business. ------ "I hate housework! You make the beds, you do the dishes--and six months later you have to start all over again!"

Date: 9/21/07 4:03 PM Does anyone know the price of this beauty? We will probably need a 2nd mortgage. I have the Pfaff 2124, but since my move I have NO Pfaff dealer, so though I'd love to upgrade there's no chance as the Vision must be picked up in the store. (sigh) Customer service isn't very helpful if no dealer is nearby.
I can't wait to hear from all you lucky ones who've seen the machine in person. Give me all the details. All I've got are the pictures and text online.
thanks,

Date: 9/21/07 4:47 PM I don't have a dealer nearby either but I emailed two different dealers and they both answered a couple of days later. One quoted the retail as being 8500.00 and the other one stated 8000.00. They both said there were introductory specials going on but I would have to come into the store to find out the sale prices. I'm happy they did tell me a retail price because I wasn't sure they would even do that. So it is definately worth shopping around since they can choose thier own retail - probably within a range. Any Pfaff dealers out there willing to spill some beans - anonymously of course! |
