I have a beautiful piece of black cashmere/wool blend suiting that I purchased from Nancy Erickson's November/December newsletter.  I've never sewn with cashmere before, and am hesitant to start a project I know nothing about, and have spent a few bucks on!

What is the best way to pre-treat this?  Nancy advises dry clean only, but I want to pre-treat before cutting it out first.  I don't want this to shrink on me!!
TIA

Hi ToniaV, I pre shrunk cashmere prior to cutting the fabric, holding my steampress above the fabric and let the fabric dry completely before moving it, to steam press another part. If you do nothave a suction board,or let your dry cleaner do the work if you have a good one .for further information about sewing with cashmere look at this previous thread
