Has anyone noticed these new patternson the Burda website?
I'm not sure how you purchase them, it looks like they're in a magazine like BWOF (click here), but some can also be purchased separately (in Germany only?) (click here), and others downloaded (click here).
Perhaps some of our German-speaking members could confirm this?

I hope so too, I think it read that a new mag called 1st ROW is launched on 5th of october, I'd sure like to get my hands on this one, nice blouses and a few pretty good dresses.

Thanks for bringing this up, I've been there (Burda site) today also but didn't much bother with this, I'm getting old or somethn', LOL!!!!

Babelfish translation -

The new booklet presents a fashionable life feeling in the context of internationally successful Fashion and Lifestyle magazines on 148 sides. With 1st ROW you sit not only in the first row of announced designers and their collections, but experience you the 1st ROW Collection. Fashion Brain Armin Morbach and its team let produce 21 models to the made by Top photographers, who can be acquired as Download or order cut here.

Sounds like you can get 21 high fashion patterns either by download or order.

Your time is limited, so don't waste it living someone else's life. Don't be trapped by dogma - which is living with the results of other people's thinking. Don't let the noise of others' opinions drown out your own inner voice. And most important, have the courage to follow your heart and intuition. They somehow already know what you truly want to become. Everything else is secondary. - Steve Jobs

Sadly, I think you can only order this in Germany and Austria due to the European laws regarding fashion designers. Someone correct me if I'm wrong.

What's the European law regarding fashion designers, please?

Nightingale, you're right that the mail-order form shows only German and Austrian options for shipping. (I don't know anything about European laws re fashion designers, though. )

I don't see any geographical limitations for the downloadable patterns, although I haven't tried to download any. They're free to download for magazine subscribers in Germany and there's a fee for everyone else.

They state that the patterns will be delivered starting in November ("48th calendar week"). I don't think that the magazine itself contains any patterns.

Sorry, I didn't mean to imply that I knew more than I do. I only know that there are designer copyright laws, I don't know their content.

What I based my post on was the fact that Burda WOF used to have one designer pattern per issue and it showed up only in the German edition & you had to have it mailed to you (in Germany). The English issue would have a non desiger pattern in place of the designer one. Recently they seem to have changed this, now they have the same designer pattern in both languages, perhaps they got permission from the designers?

Also that Burda had/has a special designer issue (I forget what it was called, person "International designs") and you could only buy it in Germany. There is an old thread about it on Patternreview I will look for it.

Nightingale, you didn't imply anything of the sort!

I *really don't* know anything about laws pertaining to designers.

Edited to try to clarify: that should read "the" laws, since I'm sure there must be plenty of them! I'm just not familiar with them.

On the Burda site it now says it's available: " Jetzt bei Ihrem Zeitschriftenhändler!". Have you seen it for sale anywhere, Sanibelle? The designs look gorgeous, but maybe a bit fancy for my lifestyle. Doesn't mean I wouldn't like the magazine, though!

Hi, Tez!

The patterns on the site look interesting, but are probably not quite right for my lifestyle, either. I will take a peek at it, though, the next time I pass by a kiosk (or, better, a shop where I can at least briefly leaf through it! ).

It's the patterns that won't be available for sale until November, but I didn't notice if that applies to the downloadable ones. It looks like those might already be available.
