Is it possible/desirable to post reviews of older patterns? I recently bought an older pattern on eBay and I'm almost done sewing it. Or maybe it's not a good idea since it won't be of general interest (if others can't find it.)

Second question--where do you go to post a profile of yourself--interests, vital statistics, whatever. I notice that other reviewers have an "about me."

Many thanks for any replies.

Post it! There are lots of such reviews here. Our abbreviation for patterns like this is "OOP" (out of print). Some of us probably have it in our pattern collections and lots of us love vintage patterns. If you can scan the envelope so we can see it, that's a bonus, but it isn't necessary. Reviews of old patterns give us something to hunt for on ebay.

Go over to the left side of the screen. Click on "Edit Profile." You will be asked to login and for your password. Then click the submit box and you can post a profile of yourself. Your profile will come up on the screen whenever someone clicks on your name.

Subject: Teaching your child to sew? Date: 11/20/07 3:01 PM

Are any of you teaching your child (a child) to sew. A very good friend has a 12/13 year old who wants to learn to sew. I really do believe she is interested and I am more than willing to teach her...I was just wondering if anyone might make any suggestions...even maybe a book I could get for her that wouldn't be so complicated sounding that it would put her off.....I am actually kind of excited at the idea...my own daughter had no interest at all and now though she regrets it, she has no time to sew anyway.....any ideas?..

You may want to start a new thread/topic. I really like Nancy Zieman's books. They are easy to understand and have plenty of illustrations and photos. You might want to look at Sew with Confidence.

It has several projects in it too that are fun and easy. Best wishes and let us know how it goes.

Hi pamscott,

I think you might have better luck in getting your question answered if you start a "new topic" either under Quilters Corner or Patterns and Notions.

Welcome to PR.

Hi I have recently joined PR. I cannot seem to work out how to put a photo on my profile and how to post a review. I did find one section of the website that gave me instructions but I just couldn't work out what to do. Is there an easy way to do this?

Post your specific question under the Computers AARRGGHHH... area and use your problems as the subject and you will get loads of help!
