I'm thinking of buying a floor model Bernina 440QEE and was wondering if 30% off retail is what should be expected to pay. The machine would have full warranty just like it was a new purchase. Should I try for a larger discount since this is a "used" machine considering the sale price for new in box is 25% off retail?

I bought this exact machine that had been used for a short time as a demonstrator in a store. i am so pleased with it, so far so good. I had a Bernina for around 20 years and this is a really wonderful new purchase for me. I also got the embroidery module as well. I have a bit to learn with the embroidery but it is fun so far. i do feel as though this machine is light, it feels light but my old machine was made from metal. I do think that it just does not look as sturdy but it is working well for me.

Thanks for you input. I decided to go ahead and buy a new in box machine on Saturday. I was just a little leary about the stability of the business that was selling the floor model and not sure if they would be around for the long haul....and the place that I did buy the new one has been in business for many many years! She doesn't keep the machines in stock so I will have to wait until the end of this week to receive it. I also bought the Embroidery unit with it. I know what I'll be doing all Christmas week!! Have a Happy Holiday!
