Date: 12/12/07 5:09 PM I subcribe thru a bookstore in Helsinki, they've had some trouble delivering them this fall and I have most of my fall issues to come, bummer but seems like there's many of us in a same boat, so I can only wait and see.

I think the latest price for ordering from Amazon was well over $400 and I pay a little over 100 euros, even the mailing expenses (8 euros/mag) can't explain the outragous price.

Date: 12/12/07 10:53 PM I think that Patrones was sold to another company. The new editions show up on the Patrones website, but they don't show all the models anymore. There are a couple of either German or Dutch websites that sell them and also a Russian website, but those websites are behind also. I've been waiting for the Fall/Winter plus size edition and it's past due. ------ Marilyn

Date: 12/13/07 1:26 AM Not that it's very helpful if you're in the US, but I used to find them at a local newsagent here in Berlin. I haven't seen one in a while - althought they might be selling out before I get there. It's interesting to know that your
Autumn copies are running late, Marita.
If anyone in Germany is reading this, have you seen Patrones in the shops lately?
ETA - I forgot to look at the preview before I posted. Thanks for the link! All I can say is, Wow! -- Edited on 12/13/07 1:30 AM -- |

Date: 12/13/07 1:46 AM Marilyn,
I'm sad to say this but looks like there will be no Tallas Grandes anymore,
they have incorporated the plus sizes to their regular size mags. What I've seen this far in August and December mags, the patterns are as good as before and there's plenty more than BWOf includes, at first I thought this was a travesty(LOL!!!) but looking at those two precious issues that I have I'm beginning to think it's not a bad change after all especially if they incl. the plus sizes in every month's mag as it looks like they do.
I also requested them to bring back the "guia de modelos" feature and not to include patterns that have appeared years ago in other pattern mags. I'm sure they don't give second thought to my suggestions but it never hurts to try.
The company was bought in the end of 2006 by a publishing giant called RBA.
Tez,
I've been sending a million e-mail, snail mail and even tried calling to spain twice, they don't speak english readily, so the conversations were very unfruitful.
Then after I told them that I've sent a complaint about their actions to the Catalan consumer office did I get an e-mail where they stated that they will send me the missing issues "as soon as possible", in few months time, so now all I can do is to wait, my mailman must think I'm mad LOL!!!! |

Date: 12/13/07 2:05 AM I hope the missing issues turn up soon! It looks like there are some summery dresses even in the December issue, so hopefully you'll still have a chance to make and wear something from them, even if they are really late. |

Date: 12/13/07 2:33 AM Hey Tez,
yes I hope so too and better sooner than later too!!!
Personally I never let the minor fact that a mag is "stamped" fall or winter or whatever stop me from making something, it's all in the fabric,... well most of the time anyway.
Did you notice that Anke Schloder top?,
was it on BWOF site just a week ago or am I dreaming, there was a gorgeous red draped top there and I can swear it was this.

Date: 12/13/07 6:38 AM Hi Marita
I didn't notice it on the Burda site, but that doesn't mean it wasn't there... That site is so big! But the red top is just stunning, isn't it? Just the kind of thing that makes you glad you can sew (although I don't know if I could sew that. It looks pretty complicated. ) |
