I am wanting to make a unique yoke to inset into a nightgown for my 6yo niece. My pattern, shows raglan sleeves with an elasticized neckline. I have made it many times and wanted to do somethig different. I am using a flannel print and have 2 coordinating flannel solids. I would like to make a U shaped yoke, trimmed in a ruffle and a button placket in front. I avoid buttons in the back as long hair gets tangled easily in them, but yet the neckline needs to be adjustable so her head can fit through. I have made a nightgown for her before where her head did not fit through and had to adjust. As most of you, I am inspired by patterns and then I go off and do my own thing!Simplicity 4767

P.S. I am so glad to read posts that remind me of myself. I am glad I am not alone in my quest to sew, sew, sew!

I want to replace the zipper in the back of a babies dress with buttons, and am hoping that someone knows how to do it the way that the commercial clothes are done. It appears that the cut isn't in the center of the back, and there is fabric strips added to both sides, with the bottoms sewn together in a square shape. I know I can just add extra to the seam allowances, but would really like to do it that way. Thanks much...

Tammilani, I recently made Simplicity 5382 for my mom (yes, she's tiny!) and really enjoyed the pattern. It looks like it might be just what you're looking for!
