Hello....I am desperate!!! My family is upgrading my Janome 525S for my birthday, pretty wonderful, huh?!! Well, I test drove the Janome HT2008, and the Baby Lock Creative Pro. I am totally stumped!!! I know nothing about Baby Lock. The Janome is running 349.00 online, and the Baby Lock is 399.00 at the dealer. I also test drove the the Baby Lock Crafters Choice and OMG!!!!!! I LOVED that machine!!! I can get it for 569.00!! Do I really want to spend the extra money? I love all of the decorative stitches and the programmable needle down is a feature I REALLY want! Any advice? Please? If anyone can recomend something else.....I am ready to listen!
Thanks so much!!!!

Have you read the reviews for the machines you are looking at? Check under sewing machine tab and look for BabyLocks and Janomes. Something there might tip the scales for you. Both are good brands and very comparable quality-wise. One suggestion--if you like the Janome, you may find one very similar but with a few more features than the HT2008 at Sears. There are several Kenmore models (made by Janome) that have all the features you want for under $500. The 19606 is the most loaded model comparable to the Janome 4900 and it runs around $600. I think it has more features/stitches than the Crafter's Choice. It may go on sale for under $600. The 19606 probably compares more closely to the Decorator's or Quilter's Choice models. I have seen the HT2008 and it is very nice however the 19233 at Sears is also great and many here on PR own and like that one too. Have fun shopping!
