Merry pranksters are going to find some unique ways to use this fabric-- beware sheers hanging in doorways!

I think they're trying to develop fabric like this to power tiny electronic devices in the future - devices that you would carry with you or would even be made into your garments. You wouldn't need to have any batteries if you could generate enough electricity just by walking around.

Now if they would just invent a fabric that burns calories for you as you wear it!

Hey, remember those old wiggle machines--the ones that had the belt you were supposed to put around your hips to wiggle you so you would lose weight? I remember seeing photos of them when I was a child, though I think they were from a previous era even then. They just came out with a study that shows that getting vibrated does cause weight loss. Maybe we can have a fabric that responds to the environment by vibrating and helps with weight loss. I just had an MRI Thursday. It involved a lot of very gentle, almost indiscernable vibration. It was so relaxing I nearly fell asleep and had the energy to drive four hours home after driving there and spending 9 hours at the cancer center for checkups. What if a vibrating blanket or could help you sleep AND help you lose weight--without danger from electrical emissions?
