Has anyone tried Londa's Elegant Creations Patterns? (www.londas-sewing.com) THEY ARE NOW ON SALE at super prices, so I couldn't resist buying a few and trying them out. Her website says that she is in the process of renaming and updating the pattern line, but I still wanted to try the older variety, and see how functional they would be if I updated them. And, if you are in Europe or the Middle East, you realize that these styles are coming back, and will probably reach the US sometime next year.
I just started the top pattern, and updated it by dropping the hem about 5 inches and curving it upward at the seams, converting the short sleeves to bell sleeves and by leaving off the large collar. I plan to put ten inch casings in the seams and run strings through them, to gather them at the sides like the latest styles are doing.
After all this work, I found the pattern to be quite easy to construct, and the instructions and tips were a total DREAM. I was really impressed, and am waiting patiently for her new line to come out. In the meantime, I just went back to her site and ordered all the other patterns (all at ridiculously discounted prices), and plan to read all her tips and instructions-which is something I don't always do when I purchase the "Big 4".
