Date: 7/11/08 12:39 PM Hi All, I've just about settled on the Bernina Aurora 430, especially with 1yr no interest financing and my local story has lot's of freebee classes, BUT I WANT TO KNOW WHAT YOUR EXPERIENCES ARE WITH THIS MACHINE FIRST! I'm getting ready to make denim couch covers but most the time I sew fine thin silk. No embroidery. Jeanee |

Date: 7/11/08 1:20 PM Sure, $1,899. I live in an upscale area and I would guess the price to be a bit higher. The perks from the store are better then $ off online. I read the reviews on this site after I made this post. One actually said they sew stretch lingerie on it! I need a work horse that's got great tension control. I like the needle up and down on the heel of the foot control too! My store gives 5 free lessons on using the machine and you can stop in anytime for a lesson on a presserfoot etc you haven't used. I'm jazzed!!! |

Date: 7/11/08 1:50 PM You are getting a good price based upon ones around me. I live in a smaller area, though. The dealers probably don't have as high a volume here.
I am considering getting the 430 also. I bought one machine 6 weeks ago and just don't love sewing on it. I LOVED sewing on the 430 and 440 in the shops. I would try to sell my other one.
It is such a big decision!! ------ http://kathigarnett.blogspot.com/ |

Date: 7/11/08 9:52 PM Can I join in, because I would love to order my 430 tomorrow, however he wants $2799 with the embroidery module. Is that a bit much? The $1899 you quoted was that with the embroidery module?

In reply to Jeanee
Date: 7/11/08 10:34 PM I have had the 430 for a couple of months and really am liking it. I think that you were quoted a very good price. I paid several hundred more with NO extras or freebies. This was not including the embroidery unit, BSR etc. Lessons are included on all new machines at this dealer. I would repurchase again-this is just the right amount of machine for me. Date: 7/12/08 10:05 AM Jeanee here, Oh I'm so glad to know I got a good price! I bought it yesterday and with 20% off , the day you buy, on accessories I got two feet I always use (the one that folds the fabric into a tiny shirt hem and a clear zigzag foot that has a red line you can see to line up where your going without looking at the needle going up and down, I have strange vision). I also got a bunch of extra needles. This price did not include the embro module cause I don't do that anymore. It can be added later if you have a PC to USB it for all that stuff. I'm a MAC user and those programs are Windows based . The 440 is a lot more $ for what was shown me to be just a capacity for wider and larger fancy stitches. I only took the 12 month o%interest. From the Bernina site I applied for their card, printed out the accepted confirmation took it to the store and bought my machine! |
