Hi all,

As I mentioned in the other thread, I've been really enjoying myself meeting you all at the various fabric stores across the country so it's time to organize one close to home. So here you go,

September 20th

Sawyer Brook Fabrics, Clinton, MA
http://www.sawyerbrook.com

They normally don't open on the weekends but since they love us so much they will open for us on Saturday, the 20th September.

You will love Sawyer brook and everyone who works there. Barb and her team are really a dedicate bunch. They have the nicest fabrics and the staff is super helpful.

Once I get a rough estimate of how many are coming, I will let Barb know so they are prepared for us

Please post on the poll, if you think you'll be able to make it.

MA get together poll

Update
Are you excited about the Fall PR Gathering at Sawyer Brook Fabrics in Mass.? Well I am, and after my recent visit there to meet Barb and her staff, I can't wait for you all to meet them. Sawyer Brook is primarily a mail order/internet fabric store but they also have a working warehouse which they open on weekdays. But as a special treat for PR members Barb (owner) is opening the store and calling her staff just for us on September 20th between 10 AM- 1 PM Eastern.

Sawyer Brook is located on the 2nd Floor of a historic building in Clinton, MA. There is a frieght elevator available, so if you need assistance, please call ahead and let them know.

We'll gather in their meeting room at 10:00 AM where we'll enjoy some refreshments while Barb will present a fabric trunk show, featuring Fall/Winter 2008 fabrics. The trunk show will include information on fiber, color, fashion trends and sewing tips. After the trunk show the warehouse showroom will be open for shopping. The showroom includes current fabrics, linings, interfacings, YKK zippers in several hundred colors, unique buttons by the piece and, of course, markdowns and remnants.

Before you visit, here are some tips for successful shopping experience at Sawyer Brook.

For those interested in joining us for a light lunch, we'll proceed to Meadow Brook Orchards at 1:00. If you'd like to join us, please post on this poll so I can plan accordingly.

Also bring your current projects for a little show and tell!

Just what I had been hoping for but my moving van leaves for KY on the 17th and I will have to chase it . Maybe I can figure something out.

I've been wanting to go there, but it's hard during the week. September 20 sounds great!

Great idea! Please add me to the list.

If anyone wants to carpool from the Belmont/Arlington/Cambridge etc area, let me know. Or I can pick up on the way to Clinton - I would go out Route 2 to start (I think - It's been a while since I went out there!).

In reply to Deepika

Deepika:

Would love to see Sawyer Brook: I LOVE their stuff. How far is it from Boston and would I have to drive there from downtown Boston? Do you know if it's close to Wellesley: I have a friend I could stay with (I think), and she might even be interested in seeing Sawyer Brook.

One other question: will this be the only Pattern Review on that day..or are other "events" planned?

Sounds like it could be great fun.

Harriet

Harriet, its about an hour's drive from Boston (45 miles). Sawyer brook is usually closed on the weekends. They will be open only for PR members on September 20th. Barb (the owner) will do a little trunk show for us.

Quote:

What’s new in the fabric marketplace? Barb Blom, owner of Sawyer Brook Distinctive Fabrics, will present a fabric trunk show, featuring Fall/Winter 2008 fabrics. The trunk show will include information on fiber, color, fashion trends and sewing tips. After the trunk show the warehouse showroom will be open for shopping. Our showroom includes current fabrics, linings, interfacings, YKK zippers in several hundred colors, unique buttons by the piece and, of course, markdowns and remnants.

I am thinking of some quickie workshops also that day at Sawyerbrook. When I have more information, I'll post here.

Drat! I just found out I have to go to a family event that weekend. I threatened DH with skipping it, but of course wasn't serious.
