Hello fellower sewers!
I live in Calgary, Alberta Canada where there seems to be fewer and fewer sewers every year!
Up until a couple years ago, we used to have a sewing certifiation program run at a local continuing ed college. That is no longer.
Do any of you know of a (reputable) online program that offers a sewing certificate? I'm thinking of a full blown program that would allow you to walk away at the end and confidently teach someone else to sew or be able to make very high end garments.
Does PR have such a certification? If not...WHY?? This is a great place for Deepka to market such a training certification (what with all her great industry contacts and such!)

Hi Deb. I just saw this.
I don't know of any reputable programs but you may be able to talk to someone from the Association of Sewing and Design Professionals and see if there is a person who teaches. I know of a couple of people in the Association, neither in BC, who have organized full sewing programs. Maybe there is one your way also.

I can't personally vouch for this program or school, but I do know that Penn Foster Career School offers an online course in 'Dressmaking and Design.'
I also noticed that the tuition includes a sewing machine!
Best of luck, Deb
