I recently sewed another version of a pattern and wanted to post an update of my review. PR will let me post a new project photo, but it won't let me replace my thumbnail for the gallery.

Note that I can remove the thumbnail, but whenever I try to load a new one from my computer, it doesn't take, and the old one pops up in its place. Here is a link to my review (with the old thumbnail). What should I do?

Nancy, I wish I could help you but I have had this same thing happen repeatedly, exasperatingly, and then, bingo, the new thumbnail finally appears. Hopefully some more techie soul will answer the query!

Is this old or new. This is what I see on your review. In most cases if you are seeing the old version, do a shift+refresh on your browser. Its usually a cached imaged.

Thanks, Deepika. It looks like the new image took.

Subject: Can't change thumbnail either Date: 6/20/11 3:37 AM

I've bumped this old thread because I can't change my thumbnail pics either.

I can delete them: but I can't change them to a smaller version - the older, bigger one keeps popping back up.

Even though I reduced them to the tiniest size possible (on resizr dot com) they appear in the gallery as too big...so instead of seeing the whole garment, you can just see a portion of it. Why is this? What am I not getting here?

It's extremely frustrating. My reviews aren't being read because my gallery photos are unclear :(

The thumbnail in the Gallery is created "on the fly" by PR, not by you. What's created is a square, so if your main photo is rectangular, the square created by PR will crop off the rectangular bits.

To avoid this and to get a thumbnail how *I* want it, I create a duplicate of my main image and crop it to a square that *I* want.

You don't have to reduce the resolution of the image because PR's algorithm does that too. In fact, I think you've over-reduced because I noticed earlier that your Gallery thumbnails were very blurry/low res.

HTH
