Date: 11/13/08 11:59 AM I wasn't sure where to post this, but I need to post it somewhere to alert those of us lucky enough to be near a city which has Lee Valley stores! Right now they have a "limited stock, special buy" on a magnifying lamp. I bought 2, one for the living room where I knit, and one for my sewing room, and already I can see how useful it will turn out to be (mainly for rrrripping), especially for those of us with older eyes! I've seen similar lamps online at much higher prices. I don't know how much shipping would cost so couldn't say if it would be worth having the lamp shipped to you. The bulb might be tricky to find for replacement, but I know they are available, and hopefully the bulb included will last thousands of hours anyway.

Date: 11/13/08 12:47 PM It looks like a good deal, I may get one! I just called Lee Valley and the replacement bulbs are $4.50. They don't have any now, but they are expecting them to be in stock next week. Sue -- Edited on 11/13/08 12:50 PM -- ------ http://sewstashsew.wordpress.com/

Date: 11/13/08 6:00 PM Thanks for the info on the replacement bulbs. I had wondered how easy they would be to find. It looks as if the lamps can be bought by mail order, with their regular shipping charges, which are quite reasonable. ------ Tessa |
