I started thinking about this almost a year ago but never really seriously but reading some of the posts on the board it seems that people would like to have a blogging feature on PR.

I would be glad to add it for foprs sort of something like
http://membername.friendsofpr.com
similar to the photo album feature but I have a few concerns

1. Will that compete with the review writing feature on PR?
2. How much space will each blogger need?

Of course since it will be on FriendsofPR I can make it collaborative across the site (if the member wishes to make the blog public that is) so people would be able to read the member's blog if its on their profile page. Blog could use the photos from the FoPR Photo album as well.

I need feedback on this before I jump right into this.

I probably wouldn't use a blog.  My stream of conciousness is usually posted all the BBs.   :D   :D  :D

I think it might interfere with the review writing.

I have three different sewing blogs ( one for general sewing, one for lingerie sewing, and one for pattern drafting), and I know once I have writen stuff there I always am a bit lazy to want to repost it here.  (I usually do anyway.)

And blogs take up a LOT of space !! Some I have seen go on and on !!

Maybe its worth a trial run, but sine I already have three established ones, I won't use it.

eewww, i've been wanting one of them !!!    just didnt know how to go about getting one. i guess it would take up alot of space. but i havent posted a review in a long long time and i think this would get a fire going under me. im just plain lazy when it comes to taking pictures and posting. plus dont want anyone to see my shape too...... sorry,,,, but thats the truth. plus i know alot of you dont want to see clothes on hangers. so i just havent posted...sorry about that too. but i really do like the idea of having a sewing blog. it would keep me on my toes,,, i think... just my 2 cents worth.

I have bee reading about sewing Blogs on my website host and I don't think I would use it,  I think it would take too much time and I am not very good with my grammer so I would get embrassed when I screw it up.  I probably would not use it.

Since I'm established at Blogger.com, I probably wouldn't move.

Blogs are the easiest things to do.  Just go to Blogger.com to get started.  It's free.  There's another one out there, too.

Deepika, I hate to be negative, but I don't think I'd use it, either.  There is so much on the site to keep up on already--much of which I miss due to time constraints, that I just couldn't add more to my plate.  Also, I really do think we should read, learn from and comment on what others sew--this should be the central focus, IMHO.  Thanks for asking!

I agree with Penelope....I think PR has enough wonderful things to read about and participate in already.  As has been said, there are other sites where you can get a blog set up for free.  It's really hard to try to be all things to all people, IMHO.

Add me to the "Thanks, but no thanks" crowd.  I think it would end up competing with the other parts of the site.  And I would use the BBs instead.
