Date: 11/30/08 12:59 PM Any MAC users out there try this software? Convert It, MAC
I'm going to try the demo, but since I'm a complete embroidery noob, I thought that maybe someone out there with a little more experience has an opinion. ------ Old black Singer (99?), Viking Designer SE, Pfaff Creative 4.0, Viking Tribute 140C, and Babylock Eclipse DX |

Date: 11/30/08 3:05 PM Just downloaded - very nice! $179 is a little pricey, but then not many people buy fiberarts stuff for Mac . . .
Playing with it now...

Date: 11/30/08 3:08 PM Oooohhh - it figures out what color threads in a chart.... I just spent this morning downloading designs from Bernina, Viking, Brother and Singer and it's letting me view them and the colors necessary - I usually use Buzztools on my 99 cent eBay PowerMac (PowerMac has PC hardware and Mac hardware that you "toggle" between with the return key...why they quit making them, I do not know), but this *way* more fun...

Date: 12/1/08 8:09 AM Wowee..that is pricey for Mac software Thanks for the link, I haven't tried it but I'm bookmarking it for the future.
I did keep my old PC laptop for things like this but I'd rather use Mac any day of the week :D |

Date: 12/1/08 6:54 PM I got several emails from the developers. Very nice and quick response. They are very experienced in writing EM software. Please go to their website. I was recommended to download the beta version as it is the latest and they would appreciate any feed back.
You use your existing files, convert if necesary, thread conversion, centering, basting, and several other things. Then download to floppy or usb and take to your machine.
They are working on more software that will be available later this year, and more the beginning of next. Yeah! Spread the word. |

Date: 12/1/08 6:56 PM Any plans to make software that will allow you to edit designs? That's really what I'm looking for, and I'd be willing to pay a reasonable premium if it meant that I didn't have to boot into Windows! ------ Old black Singer (99?), Viking Designer SE, Pfaff Creative 4.0, Viking Tribute 140C, and Babylock Eclipse DX |

Date: 7/18/09 12:30 PM I've been using and testing Convert it Mac since last November. At first I thought, how often would I really use it? I don't use the Windows ones very often. Boy was I mistaken! I use it so often it now has a permanent place on my dock.
Also, it was just updated to add Cover Flow. Now you can view designs in Finder with cover flow. Check their website to download the latest update. I have 2 blog posts reviewing Convert It Mac if you want to know more (not sure if I can include link…). I just wish it would Cover Flow my Punto files!
On the subject of Mac embroidery software, does anyone know anything about the Adobe Illustrator plugin from Pulse? |
