Date: 12/4/08 10:49 AM The announcement has just gone out ... Project Runway Canada 2 will premiere on GlobalTV on January 27th with a re-broadcast on Slice on January 31st.
There will be 14 designers from across Canada (even one from Winnipeg). Iman will be back as host and Brian Bailey is back as mentor. The 2 judges from last year are also back (I could do without Shawn Hewson). Actress Elisha Cuthbert, fashion model Coca Rocha and designer Wayne Clark will be guest judges during Season 2.
Brief designer profiles are available at Project Rungay (that's the only place I've seen them so far). A list of the designers is posted at slice.ca but as of this morning there were no profiles.
I can't wait -- I absolutely loved the first season.
The countdown begins.

Date: 12/6/08 11:01 AM From what I've been able to determine it will air on Tuesdays on Global TV and on Saturdays on SliceTv (probably will air more than once as they usually repeat their shows a couple of times during the week).
I'm pretty sure I read that the broadcast time on Global will be 10 p.m. EST

Date: 2/2/09 1:56 PM Hooray! Someone finally uploaded the torrent for Episode 1! I downloaded it last night. Canadian viewers can watch the episodes online, but the rest of us have to use torrents or YouTube.
Note going to spoil it for anyone, but several "never befores" happened on this show. Well worth a look!
Some thoughts:
Cannot stand the "hey-HEY-hey" guy; hope he either gets kicked off or loses his voice.
The right person got booted. That was the UGLIEST makeup job I've ever seen on a model. Even if the garment was good, I'd have booted the designer for okaying that makeup. She said "guerilla", but it looked more like "gorilla".
I liked the second from the bottom. I think his "gimic" cost him. If he wouldn't have had the gimic (and the judges could have just focused on his garment), I don't think he'd have done so poorly.
I think the right contestant won the challenge -- although the runner-up was pretty good, too.
Project Runway Canada (like PR Australia) usually has challenges that result in good-looking garments -- unlike PR US where the challenges (and the results) are more quirky and gimicky.

Date: 2/3/09 1:01 AM This is the first time I've actually had the right TV channels to see any of the Project Runways! I've watched the first show, and wow! I love the winning dress! (Well, maybe not the collar, but the rest of it is fantastic!). ------ 2009:

Date: 2/3/09 11:55 AM Hey WesternSew- me too! What a change from having to watch all the Runway shows online. I did love that winning dress. Not too sure about the caliber of talent of some of those designers though- there was one who didn't know how to thread a machine! ------ Connie Bontje
