Date: 12/17/08 9:09 PM I just wanted to let PR members in western NY know that Sarah has tentatively scheduled a 2-day pants fitting workshop at my house outside of Rochester on March 19 and 20, 2009. Check her website for Class Information, a Detailed Description and to register.
I cleared this post with Deepika, and will not be profiting (financially!) from this workshop.

Date: 12/17/08 10:34 PM Hi, I posted this to our guild's blog (Syracuse ASG Chapter) so our membership is aware. Thanks. I don't know if this is when we are having our stash sale (I have to check the dates) but not everyone participates in that and I am sure there are some who would register.

Date: 12/18/08 7:57 AM How did you arrange this with Sarah? I would love to host something like this. I am slowly getting some responses to my calls for Long Island sewers. Perhaps something like this would be a good attraction! ------ www.nancyksews.blogspot.com |

Date: 12/18/08 3:29 PM Basically, I just asked! In more detail, I attended her Design I class last March, where I realized that I could easily host something like that in my house, and it would save me a trip to Baltimore! We discussed it a bit then, and more when I took her Practical Patternmaking class in June. We agreed that for an initial class in the area we should keep it focused on a topic of interest to a wide range of sewers--hence, pants--and long enough to get something done without a huge time commitment. Then we picked a date, and we'll see what happens. I won't actually be taking the class, but rather watching and helping Sarah. So if you're interested I think you should call her or email her--she's wonderful and I'm pretty sure she like to spend more time teaching, and less time custom sewing. |

Date: 12/18/08 3:32 PM Thanks--great idea! I don't think there is an active ASG chapter here (at least no one has ever responded to my emails), but maybe I should try to contact the Buffalo chapter. My house is only about an hour from either Buffalo or Syracuse. |
